STRATUM

The STRATUM (STiRr lArge neTworks and User Management) experiment investigated specific aspects of running SDN/SD-WAN architectures in an intrinsically distributed environment such as the Fed4FIRE+ testbed, in order to build secure communication channels between terminals and central offices.
The STRATUM project evaluated on how leaf nodes of a complex architecture can benefit from a distributed approach based on SD-WAN scenario in order to i) prioritize the traffic accordingly to some specific patterns and ii) provide a secure environment similar to (but easier than) a VPN.
